Lounge Review: DPS Premier Lounge Bali Airport

When I visited the Premier Lounge at DPS, the lounge had just reopened after months of renovations. The lounge is located above one of the main dining areas in the airport, so it’s hard to miss.

I really enjoyed the vibe and decor of the lounge. It felt a little like it was out of the 80s, but it was funky, and it felt new. There were a lot of seating options with circular areas for groups, lots of paired seating, and seating outside. There’s also a business center and children’s room, as well as a section of the lounges for massages (which you have to pay additional money for).

The lounge wasn’t too crowded when I was there, and there are some cleverly placed outlets throughout the lounge (e.g. there are multiple outlets in each of the circular seating areas). I couldn’t get the wifi to work while I was there, but that could have just been because the lounge was newly reopened.

There is a bar for alcoholic drinks, perhaps because of the high alcohol taxes. It looked like they didn’t have a huge selection, but I did not partake. They have the regular selection of non-alcoholic beverages, and I enjoyed their super sugary boxed tea.

The food options were actually pretty extensive. There were a number of hot food trays (with lots of vegetarian options), although the trays were not always refilled promptly. The food was by no means award-winning, but it’s probably on par with the quality of a cheapish Asian buffet, so it’s fine to eat if you’re hungry. One thing that I particularly enjoyed was that they had salak (snakeskin fruit) as one of their fruit options.

There’s also a shower in each bathroom. It is in the bathroom and is not a separate room, so there’s not a ton of privacy, but it’s good to know that showers are available if you need one.

Overall, this is a pretty nice business class lounge. A comfortable place to hang out for a while with extensive food options and funky decor. They probably don’t need to do nearly as much as they do.
